Spare Fruit : Introducing the 1st sustainable fruit crisp on the market!

Spare fruit are on mission to rescue surplus British produce into award winning healthy snacks, both high in fibre and vitamin-packed. The crunchy fruits are a healthy hit of energy on the go and are available in two varieties for both apple and pear lovers. The delicately sliced whole fruit is slowly air dried – never fried – to transform into crunchy slices of natural goodness. Each bag contains 100% fruit – even the pips are spared – so they’re low calorie, vegan, gluten free with absolutely nothing added.

They’re products with a conscience. Spare Fruit’s mission is to help alleviate the huge scale of food waste. Almost 15 million tonnes of food are wasted in the UK every year and Spare Fruit has saved 40 tonnes of apples and pears so far since it began in August 2016. They work with small British farms across Kent to transform their surplus produce into sustainable products.

Spare Fruit Apple and Pear crisps are available in Planet Organic and Selfridges stores, Google, Farmdrop and a host of independents. Apple available in 20g; Pear available in 22g (RRP £1.35), every bag is grown, picked, air dried and packed within 20 miles from the farm.

2017 has been an exciting time for Spare Fruit as they have secured £170,000 in investor backing and launch their first crowdfunding campaign. A successful campaign will allow them to rescue significantly more fruit, grow their range of award winning products and expand across Europe.
